Augmented reality

Augmented reality is becoming more and more used today whatever the aim is. Recently, a French rapper released an album whose sleeve was in augmented reality: you just had to show the sleeve to your webcam after having downloaded the application here and then you could access to the studios where Sinik recorded his album etc.

In the music industry, this tendancy is easily understandable as the sector is suffering from the internet. CD sells fall and professionnals are looking for these small things that would catch interest.

Recently, Adidas has annouced the launching of the adidas Originals X Star Wars and then other shoes whose drawing can be seen in 3D if you present them in front of your webcam.

What's the use? I don't know. I think it is a pure marketing gadget, it's all about fun and nothing more.

Nevertheless, augmented reality in other sectors has a promising future. Video games, movies, comics etc. could be very cool if the could be seen in augmented reality integrating interactivity.
